The Poochyena wagged her furry little tail, barking hap[ily and oblvious to everything else. Yup, she had no idea Ladyflicker hated her at all. The pup was too young to know about the cats-hate-dogs relationship.
"Pooch!"
Well, I'm guessing that's a yes? Besides, who can resist a cutewuddy-fluffy-luffy-puppeh?

"Yay! Okay, so, don't move when I do this! I swear it won't hurt!" Ex said cheerily, cradeling Wild Poochyena in her right arm whist reaching behind her back for a pokéball. The trainer smiled as she grabbed one of the remaining three pokéballs and pressed it against Wild Poochyena's scruffy, furry head. At this a red light Wild Poochyena had turned to, this light absorbed into the white and red sphere. Yay! A deadly kawaii pokémon for Ex to play with! Her parents would never of let her keep Wild Poochyena if Ex was still in Rustboro!
Pokémon journeys may end quick but they're fun no less!

The pup went inside and with a Ping! sound the 'Ball indicated her capture. Congrats, you are now the proud owner of a puppy! Oh, but what is this? Seems this little one came with a few surprises for Ex. I guess doing a good deed, like rescuing a puppy from the wilderness, has its payments after all.

"You are so cute!" Ex squealed once more before placing the pokéball on her belt. Might as well keep her out of trouble. Wouldn't want to little girl to get into trouble, would you? Looking up at the sky, which had the misfortune of staying as black as midnight, Ex whirled around to face Ladyflicker, the sarcastic and snappy little Firecub Ex had picked as a started. "Okay, so where to next? Continue looking for pokémon or just get to the next town already? It would be nice if I could stock up on some pokéballs before something really rare comes by."
"Frii," Ladyflicker meowed back standing up from her spot of lying on her side. Flicking the bright pumpkin tail into some bushes, the adventerous feline's answer being rather simply put. Without waiting for her trainer the cat walked into the bushes, hoping for somethign exciting to happen. Ladyflicker was not easily impressed by what she found and always wanted more, it seemed. And this could easily turn into a big problem one day.
"Um... okay then. But, I need to name the little puppy! Umm... Iiawak, maybe?" Ex murmured to herself and to no one else. Then she heard a loud meow from Ladyflicker and flinched back into reality. With a sigh the trainer jumped over the bushes and off the beaten path, following Ladyflicker into the tall grasses. The really path grasses. Gee, now would be a great time to get angry at yourself for being short.

A Young Girl had been around te grass, comming across Ladyflicker as she tore through them. Out of a red and white sphere a small yellow and black rodent was released, his ears twitching as he looked around before his cheeks begn to spark - getting ready for battle. Though, before the battle could commence the girl noticed the Trainer approaching, pouting slightly.
"Oh! You must be this Firecub's Trainer? Aww... Bumme- Oh, I know! Woul you be up to a battle?! Oh, the name's Marie."
The small girl grinned, probably barely after her eight years or so. The Pichu on the ground blinked, a bit confuse, though he was still up for a battle. Still, that little rodent looked to be strong...

The sudden appearance of Young Girl Marie startled Ex for a second, having not seen any other trainers on the prairies. Taking a bit of time to react to the sudden question, ML's strong feeling of quietness seemed to overcome her once again. Among people she didn't know- never mind people she didn't no in the wilderness- ML seemed quiet, a wallflower of any party. Starign there for what seemed to be two seconds, the trainer finally nodded her answer.
"... Sure. Ladyflicker, I guess you deserve the first trainer battle, being my started and all," Ex said quietly, looking towards the Firecub. Ladyflicker nodded, finding the sudden change in tempurament strange. Stepping in front of her trainer, muscles seen in her lithe yet powerful forlegs (hence the ability to stand on her front legs) where framed by the fire along Ladyflicker's back. With a coaxing smirk, Ladyflicker flicked her tail slightly, the flames giving off dazzling embers.

The Pichu didn't wait any further, the small furred rodent winking cutely as he growled warmly at Ladyflicker. He was using Charm in hopes of lowering his foe's attack strenght - before following this up with a Thundershock. His small pinkish cheeks sparked with electricity, before the jolt was launched at the Firecub.
"That's it, Pichu! Show them how good you are!"
Well, this pair seems all charged up and ready for victory... But what about ML and Ladyflicker?

The attack Charm was wellknown to the trainer, havign seen the cute attack enough times on her Pearl game. Nodding towards Ladyflicker, Ex's wished where rather obvious- dodge already!
Ladyflicker nodded back, catchign the head bobbing movement out from the corner of her vision. She quickly dived into a bush, this time one which wasn't prickly, and made rustling sounds for the sake of getting that low, endearing purring sound out from her ears. Then, spotting the electricty jump her way, Ladyflicker jumped out, back to her original spot.
Looks like victory wasn't going to be so easy to get.
"Oi, Lady, Tail Whip!" Ex yelled. Ladyflicker meowed her answer and swayed her tail from side to side in a hypnotic manouver, purring in a soft way, as if trying to 'relax' the Pichu into letting it's guard down. The orange feline smiled as the flames at the tip of her tail made the hypnotising effect even stronger.

Fine, two could play this game.
"Quick Pichu, close your eyes!'
The small yellow rodent wquickly did as told, missing to see the Tail Whip entirely, and thus saving his defense from dropping down. Grinning happily the trainer jumped in happiness, before pointing at the Firecub.
"Now, Pichu! Thunderwave!" 'Pichu!'
The weak jolt of electricity was shot in the Firecub's direction, intent of giving the feline a paralyzing effect. Funny, seemed Ladyflicker always had to fight things felines prayed upon... Or things that prayed upon felines.
