Aduro, still having some speed behind him, was able to skid out of the way of the Poochyena's attack-- but that's not to say he wasn't surprised. Was the Poochyena the Wurmple's friend, who was angry that they'd attacked the much smaller pokemon? Or was it just another wild pokemon that like to randomly attack out of nowhere?
Emmett, too, was surprised, and a genuine smile creeped across his face, tugging at the corners of his mouth. A Poochyena! It's evolution was certainly a majestic beast, and they were--the both of them--savage attackers. This was wonderful! "Aduro, take it down! Use Tackle, again-- try to knock it off its feet. Hit low, like I said. Only time you'll need to fight fair it when there're judges, okay?" True, Emmett wasn't the best of people, but he at least cared for Aduro. So what if he wasn't the best role-model? The strong survive, not the kind and generous.
Aduro spun around, nearly tripping, and charged at the wild Poochyena in yet another tackle attack.

The Poochyena seemed to watch the Firecub carefully, its eyes glinting in a somewhat savage way. It had to admit, the trainer was right. There were no judges in a wild, route battle, however, that meant that there was no reason for the Poochyena to fight fair either. It smirked, allowing the Firecub's attack to connect, not releasing a single whimper as it skid backward and came to a stop just in front of the tree.
The Pokemon took in the situation. A cursed feline was its opponent, but it did have a trainer, so it wasn't acting on its own accord really. So, its trainer was the true mind behind the magic. But, would the Poochyena to sink to such a low level as to attack a trainer? Of course it would! It was the perfect strategy, knock the trainer out and then get rid of the Pokemon, why hadn't others thought of it?
With a loud bark, the Poochyena charged forward with another one of its fierce Tackles, however, this time, rather than leaping for Aduro, it leapt instead for the Firecub's trainer, Emmett. Its lips were curled in a vicious snarl, just waiting to see how the trainer would react to such an attack.
The wolf decided that if, even after this, the teen still stood, it would return to battling the Firecub, and if in the chance that the Poochyena was defeated, would come along without question. It wanted a strong and fierce trainer, not some sissy. It had an idea this would be a good trainer for it, but, one could never be sure.

[ooc// This Poochyena is pretty freakin' awesome. XD]
Emmett watched the Poochyena's reactions closely. It didn't try to move out of Aduro's way, nor did it flinch when hit with what Emmett could only imagine was a painful tackle-- painful, at least, for the creature's size. This was mildly surprising, but not too rare, as some pokemon were quite the battlers.
It was a surprise, however, when the Poochyena lunged not for Aduro... but for himself. Emmett's first reaction was not to dodge or flinch away, as he supposed most people would do, but to defend himself with force. He'd only managed to raise his fists before being hit, as he'd not realized what was happening quite fast enough to take a swing at the Poochyena-- and was knocked over by the tackle attack. The Poochyena had, perhaps unknowingly, made a very bad mistake in tackling the short-tempered Emmett. Pushing himself up with his hands, he swung his legs around in an attempt to land a kick on the canine pokemon before it was out of range.
Aduro, standing a meter or so away, had a bemused expression plastered on his face-- he wanted to see how this played out, rather than jump in and help. If this turned into a battle between his trainer and a wild Poochyena... well, so be it. He did, however, keep himself braced for battle-- just in case the Poochyena turned back to attack him.

OoC: Well, I'm glad you like him xD
BiC: The Poochyena snarled loudly, though didn't even wince as the kick from the teenager landed forcefully on its side. Rather, as soon as it went down it rose back to its feet again, despite the large bruise that was slowly becoming visible from beneath its grey fur. It simply growled again. Alright, it figured this trainer was worthy... not many would actually lash out at an attacking Poochyena like that, what was funny was the wolf smelled no fear on the teen. Alright, back to that blasted cat...
With a loud bark, the Poochyena rounded and charged toward Aduro with another one of its powerful Tackles. Even though the bruise on its side hurt and ached badly, the Pokemon wasn't going to let it slow it down. No, keep fighting until the very end, that was how it was, just keep fighting... anyway, it wasn't like it had gotten stabbed, it was just a black and blue mark that was hardly visible through its fur.
It leaped, stretching its claws forward toward the fire lion. It loved nothing more than to attack cats, course, what dog didn't really? It was just something about cats that got its blood to boil, the urge to hunt, to attack, completely overcoming it as it battled. Maybe it was just an instinct wolves and dogs had? Really, the Poochyena could care less.

[ooc// He makes me smile.]
Emmett swung himself into a standing position, ready to counter another attack by the Poochyena-- but it was already leaping at Aduro, teeth bared. Taking into mind the somewhat surprising strategy of the Ledyba, he called out to his pokemon: "Meet it mid-air! Tackle!"
Aduro, who had been preparing to do just that, leapt forward, claws outstretched in a similar fashion. All his muscles were tense--the landing after this would likely be a painful one--and he had pulled back his lips in a strange sort of grimace to show off his small, though present, fangs.
Emmett found himself smiling. He liked the Poochyena--he'd never seen a wild pokemon go for the trainer when a pokemon was out of its pokeball. The fact that the Poochyena would do that, with no warning or provocation... He would be a good addition to the team--but Aduro would need to weaken him first. Emmett dug around in his bag for a pokeball, which he tossed lightly from hand to hand. (But that's not to say he wasn't watching the Poochyena for possible attacks towards him...)

The Poochyena barked in outrage, it hadn't been expecting the trainer to order a head on attack like that from his Firecub. The wolf was hit forcefully in its bruised side and stumbled as it tried to regain its balance after skidding across the dirt path. It hoped that its own Tackle had at least hurt the cat slightly.
It dug its claws into the ground, panting slightly. It was obvious that the lion cub was at least a level above it, that was for sure. It cursed mentally, well, that wasn't exactly a good thing for the Poochyena now was it. The Pokemon flicked its ears forward, examining the Firecub for a moment. It was worth a shot, just keep attacking ruthlessly and not show any pain, try and get the opponent scared. Yes, that sounded good...
With a loud snarl, the Poochyena leapt forward with another Tackle. If Aduro hadn't been hurt in the first connection, maybe this would make up for it. The wolf charged, baring its sharp fangs. No mercy, that was how it fought, just keep fighting until the wolf couldn't fight anymore, or its opponent was lying, fainted, on the ground.
The Poochyena tensed its muscles in preperation for impact, aiming its shoulder directly for the Firecub's side. There was no fear in its yellow and red eyes, after all, it fought many times in the route.

As Aduro tumbled to the ground, he let out a yelp of pain--he'd fallen in a strange way, with his right paw bent up under his body. He staggered to his feet, knowing he wouldn't be able to dodge this attack, or even give back a decent counter at the moment. He needed time to position himself; which he hadn't--this attack was going to hit him full-on, and it was going to hurt.
Emmett noticed two things: The Poochyena was showing slight signs of tiredness, and Aduro had hurt his paw-- and was unable to move out of the way. Not wanting Aduro to get hurt too badly, and possibly faint, Emmett chucked the pokeball in the Poochyena's direction. He wasn't expecting it to catch the fiery-tempered beast, but it would at least give Aduro some time to re-position himself, hmm? And then, when Aduro won the battle--not if--he'd catch the Poochyena.

OoC: I should have thought of the Pokeball thing when my character Koishi got attacked on Kanoa D8 *hits self* I'm an idiot. And don't worry about shortness, as long as I have at least a paragraph to work with I'm good^^
BiC: The Poochyena barked in surprise as the Pokeball hit it on the head, right in between its ears. The Pokemon was enveloped in a red light and then sucked into the ball through the small white button on the front of the orb. The Pokeball remained still for a moment, as if the Pokemon had been caught. Well, that would have been a lucky shot if it was caught, that was for sure.
However, the Pokeball suddenly began bouncing around, bumping into small rocks and the tree before it exploded open. The Poochyena was definately not very happy now, and showed it by stepping on one of the split halves of the Pokeball and busting it into pieces. The item wasn't going to get thrown at any Pokemon anymore.
With a fierce snarl, the Poochyena rushed forward again, trying to make up for the Tackle that had been interrupted with another one. The cat was hurt, he could see that, though he wasn't in the best shape himself. Well, finish it quick, that's what he had to do. With a loud bark he continued running forward, and then leapt, aiming his hard shoulder for Aduro.

Emmett froze, wondering, for a second, if he'd caught the Poochyena--but, just as he'd expected, the ball shook violently and exploded open. And, to add to that, the still-wild Poochyena smashed the pokeball to pieces. Emmett bit back a laugh and turned to Aduro. Good--he'd positioned himself for another attack.
"Meet 'im head on! Take that bugger down--show it you're the hunter, Aduro!"
Aduro snarled, and, with a barking sort of cry, lunged forward to meet the Poochyena. It was nowhere near as powerful as before: His paw hurt, and he had something of a limp; he was tired and out of breath; and he was starting to get sore from all this bashing into each other. But, nonetheless, he wasn't about to give up. He wanted to see this battle through, whether the ending be win or lose.
Emmett was already scrambling for a potion and another pokeball. If both pokemon were still concious after this attack, he'd use a potion on Aduro, to give him an edge... and then they'd go crazy with their attacks. This Poochyena was going down! ... So long as it didn't knock Aduro out on this attack.

The Poochyena actually yelped this time, though it sounded strained, as if it had tried its hardest to hold the cry back. It had been forced to change direction because of the Firecub's Tackle, and, unfortunately, its new direction had been backwards where it hit the trunk of a tree, which was actually the same one the Wurmple had been cowering against.
That crash had hurt, rather badly in fact, and the Poochyena winced as it took up another fighting pose. Another hit like that and, well, it was going to be over for it. Well, it was time to try and even the odds. With a loud snarl, the wolf charged forward again, though this Tackle was noticably slower than its other had been. Exhaustion and begun to take over, slowly, but surely...
"Yena!" the wolf Pokemon snarled as it raced towards Aduro. He either had to get taken out now, or it was over, the Poochyena knew that quite well. Its paws beat against the ground, flinging up dust, which caused a small cut on its side to sting. This was it...

[ooc// Oh, stop mocking me. XP ]
Emmett watched the two collide again, and watched as they fell. Aduro had let out a pitiful sound, but it looked like he could still walk... "Aduro! Get back here, quick..."
Throwing a glance at the now-charging Poochyena, he turned tail and ran--against better judgement, but in order to obey Emmett--towards his trainer. Emmett, in turn doused him with a potion, smirking as the majority of Aduro's wounds vanished. True, Aduro was going to have to take one of Poochyena's tackles full-on, but he would have plenty of energy to respond...
The Firecub skidded to a halt and braced himself for impact; as that was all he had time to do.

OoC: I'm not mocking you! My replies just keep coming out short! I dunno why, meh...
BiC:
The Poocyena growled, skidding to a halt as he saw the Firecub return bakc towards his owner. Was he running away? No, it was just getting one of those stupid bottles of liquid that trainers had to give their Pokemon more energy. The Poochyena had to admit, it was a rather interesting item, anything that could heal your wounds like that was interesting, at least, that's what he thought.
However, when such a thing was put to use the Pokemon couldn't react right away after. The Poochyena grinned slightly. It was open for an attack! With a loud snarl he rushed forward again, fangs bared and ears laid back to show agression. Its Tackle slowly powered up as his paws hit the dusty road, and then, he leapt, eyes narrowed aggressively and fangs glinting in the sunlight.
Too bad I don't exactly know how to bite yet... the Poochyena cursed in its mind. This would be the perfect opportunity to get double damage in! Oh well, I'll have to make do with just my Tackle... He continued cursing in his mind as he drew closer and closer to Aduro, aiming for his side as if to knock him over.

[ooc// I was kind of joking. XP 'Cause your replies are always really long and now they're becoming more of my response length. XD I think I may be contagious. Sorry. ]
Aduro was hit--hard--and plowed into the dirt. The two rolled for a bit before the Firecub was able to shake himself free, snarling in both the heat of the battle and in pain. That one had been particularly painful, he thought, and the Poochyena had manage to hit him right about the ribcage... Needless to say, that one hurt.
Emmett, though, was confident Aduro would have enough endurance, now healed by a potion, to decisively end this battle. True, it may not be with this next attack, but after a few more tackles... Well, he hoped they won. He really wanted to add this Poochyena to his team. "Shake it off, then, Aduro. Use a tackle of your own!"
Aduro, teeth bared and hissing, charged at the Poochyena in another of his tackle attacks. He wished his tackle attacks were as powerful as that Poochyena's were, but, of course, they were known for being attackers more than his kind were-- as Mightyena and the like didn't have the range of special attacks that he would have later on... But, still-- he was mildly envious of the wild pokemon's power, even if he wasn't going to admit to it.

OoC: Actually, it's probably because I keep replying either right when I wake up or right before I go to bed xD Around that time my muse is just... dead...
BiC: The Poochyena smirked as he saw his attack hit. Right near the ribcage, well, he wasn't going to complain about a hit like that. After all, those hits were helpful in taking down a Rattata's speed while he was hunting. Small rodents like that usually ended up limping and scrambling from such a blow just because of their small size. Well, it was obvious this cat wasn't going to end up like that from just one blow like a Rattata was, it was closer to the Poochyena's size, maybe even a bit larger. The wolf was probably lucky he was managing to hit so often.
The Poochyena's eyes narrowed as he saw Aduro charging at him again, and he bared his teeth. Well, at least it doesn't know any special element attacks... the wolf thought as he raised the fur along his back and neck, not in fear, but it gave him a more feral-type look and made him look a bit more aggressive. But if it keeps hitting me like this, I'm going to be out in probably two hits or less...
Baring his teeth, the Poochyena decided to use a rather desperate strategy. It turned and ran backwards, hoping that the Firecub would follow, and then stopped in front of the tree the Wurmple had been cowering near. He suddenly leapt off to the side, hoping that Aduro ran into the tree instead of somehow changing directions and coming at him again. He wasn't ready to dodge if that happened, and the tree was really the only dirty trick he could think of at the moment.
I must be losing my touch... he thought to himself. Usually I have tons of tricks in my paw, but this is the only one I can think of... and really, I must say it is somewhat mediocre in my opinion... He shook his head, watching carefully to see what Aduro would do. His sides were heaving as he panted and he suddenly staggered slightly, his legs shaking. He was pretty much on the end of his teather.

Emmett winced as he saw what the Poochyena was doing-- and had no time to tell Aduro how to handle the situation. He could only hope that his Firecub wouldn't be so slow that he would be unable to turn and end up plowing into the trunk...
Which, it seemed he wasn't. Though Aduro couldn't tell what the Poochyena was doing, running away like that, he wasn't about to give up the chase. When the wolf-like pokemon leapt out of the way, Aduro leapt towards the tree--with Emmett flinching in the background--and pushed off the bark with such force it left deep gouges where his claws had been. His speed was slowed because he had needed to turn, true, but now he was hurtling, more or less, in the Poochyena's direction.
Emmett let out a sigh of relief as Aduro dodged ramming himself into a tree, and found himself staring at the Poochyena. It was tiring; he could see its legs trembling-- a sure sign of fatigue. He readied a second pokeball, prepared to throw when he thought it would be ready to capture.

Cursed cat! was all the Poochyena could think before Aduro pretty much plowed into his side, sending him bouncing across the path. He landed in a patch of high grass, the blades flattening beneath his weight as he hit his head rather hard off the dirt ground. That had hurt! Big time!
Hmph, maybe having a trainer won't be so bad... the Poochyena thought, his red eyes shifting to Emmett. Even if it does mean I have to have a blasted cat as a team mate... if I'm lucky maybe I won't have to battle with it at my side... Somewhat comforted by this thought he continued to think.
And maybe I'll become a Mightyena quicker, maybe I'll even be able to beat that cat one of these days! After all, a wolf taken down by a feline is just, well sad... Mentally nodding slightly the Poochyena closed its eyes and let itself fall into unconsciousness. It had thought about trying to get up, trying to keep fighting, but Emmett had who knew how many more Potions, the Poochyena couldn't have stood up against that. Maybe eventually, but not quite yet...
However, as the Poochyena fainted Aduro would suddenly feel an inner warmth in his body, just raging to escape its closed quarters. It would be like a fire ready to release its heat in battle and any other time, just yearning to escape through the Firecub's jaws. Aduro had learned the attack Ember.
Congratulations! Aduro gains one (1) level for defeating the wild Poochyena, meaning he is now on level nine (9) Aduro has reached the correct level to learn a new technique! He has learned Ember! The Poochyena may now be caught.

Upon Aduro's collision with the Poochyena, Emmett let out a cheer-- they'd won! Aduro, imitating his trainer, let out something of a roar, then proceeded to spew red-orange flame from his mouth in a mock ember-attack. Emmett watched this plume of fire with strange look-- was that pride?--and smiled.
"Congrats, Aduro. You did really well. What do you say we capture this one?"
The Firecub nodded enthusiastically, purring loudly. He'd shown that stupid dog. Granted, he'd needed a potion, but he'd still won. And hadn't Emmett said he didn't need to fight fair? (The young pokemon didn't consider potions fair in battle, but that ideal would soon be erased from his mind.)
Emmett tossed a second pokeball at the fallen Poochyena, knowing he was, now, as good as caught. But what to name him?

The Pokeball tapped the Poochyena lightly on the side and then jumped back, opening up and pulling the wolf in with a flash of bright red light. The Pokeball dropped to the ground and twitched a few times before sounding a loud ding, which showed that the Pokemon had been caught.
Name: -Your Choice- Gender: Male Level: 6 Attacks: Tackle, Howl Personality: A rather aggressive beast that has a high dislike for cats. He's rather stubborn and has been known to use unfair tricks to aide him in his battles. Though he is normally loyal to his trainer, if thrown into a double battle with a cat as his partner he may very well just abandon all orders and attack his partner rather than the opponent. Experience Points: 0 Hold Item: None
Now that the Pokeball was lying still on the ground, another Pokemonm landed on a tree, peering curiously at the new arrivals to the route. The way it suddenly narrowed its eyes showed that a slight frown would probably cross its long, orange beak if there were muscles in it that allowed such an action. What were they doing here?
Releasing a loud screech, the bird fluttered to the ground and spread its wings, opening its beak slightly and spacing its feet apart. It was ready to fight, that was quite obvious, though it didn't seem to want to make the first move.
Event! You have successfully captured the Poochyena. A wild Starly wants to fight!

Where did all these gosh-darned* pokemon keep coming from? Couldn't they get a least a little rest? Emmett glared at the Starly for a long moment. He supposed a flying type would be useful later on... and Staraptor could be quite the vicious attackers...
"Aduro, go--"
But the Firecub was way ahead of its trainer--having learned a new move, it was itching to battle and show the world its "skills". With a snarl, it lunged towards the Starly, fire spewing from its wide-open maw. An ember attack!
[ooc// Blech. Short. I should go put Poochyena's stats on Emmett's page... Sooo lazy.... eh...]

OoC: Lol, no problem^^
BiC: The Starly screeched loudly, its eyes widening. It hadn't quite expected the Firecub to have known Ember yet! Well, that was its fault, it should have watched the battle with the Poochyena before deciding to randomly attack out of the blue. It screeched again, this time in pain as the flames enveloped it, catching a few of its feathers on fire. By flapping its wings wildly, it managed to put the flames out, but it already looked badly burned. This wasn't good...
Making a somewhat little thought through decision, the bird Pokemon decided to attack right back. Opening its wings fully, it winced, but took to the air, gaining a bit of altitude before suddenly diving at Aduro with its Tackle attack. It probably had absolutely no chance against the obviously higher leveled fire type, but, maybe if it was lucky its orange and black beak would add more damage to the Tackle attack?
Picking up speed as the Pokemon dove, the Starly closed its wings closer to its body, hoping to pick up more speed that way. It pressed its claws closer to its chest as well, becoming as streamlined as possible as if continued barreling down, closer, and closer...
