The boat had arrived, docking at the pier as waves lapped against the red and blue painted side. A flock of Wingulls took off in distress as many a person started to jauntily walk of the boat, using a wooden ramp as their departure way. Among these people, the boy named Maxus was making his way down this way, and stepping onto the newly cleaned dock.
Max looked up, seeing nothing but a sea of people, but then seeing the land that was Lanorae. As the crowd of people thinned out, Max could start making out more of the scenery, from some of the lush plants to the budding flowers. The pinks and baby blues complemented the ocean and it's many glistening waves. The buildings dotting this fairly small town were old fashioned, made of stone and teracotta roofs. The townspeople were sure to be nice and inviting, as they must see many a tourist every day. But their was one thing. There was no one out, just a mass of black colored bird Pokemon, Murkrow. Very odd.
The dispersing passengers that were aboard the ship were heading every which way, some heading to the path that led to Route 1 and some heading to the lab. Max was among those who were making their way to the famous Lab of Lanorae. The haunting birds sent chills down his spine, but he was to eager to listen to that strange sensation.
Finally, after a few minutes of struggling through the crowds, Max had arrived at the Lab. The building itself was very beautiful, with a chrome finished that could rival a Porygon's home. A nice garden complemented the chrome, though the way wasn't very clear. As Max approached the front door, they slid evenly and smoothly apart, forming the interest to the place were adventures were born.
The inside of the lab was just as spectacular as the front, posters lining the walls, type charts, a poster posing all the starters in an action pose. The elements were all displayed neatly, and containers filled with pokeballs dazzled Max, it was like heaven, but smelled like coffee and new shoes. Everything was neatly organized, the floor was spotless and there wasn't a smudge or finger print to be seen anywhere. It really was the perfect Pokemon Research space.
For some reason, the Murkrows at attracted all the other tourists attention from the lab, so Max was basically by himself. The lab was very quiet, only the occasional cold caw of a dark bird could be heard. Calling out, "Hey, is anyone here. I'm a new trainer, and I want my first Pokemon.". His voice echoed back slightly, giving the sense of emptiness even more of an accent. Hoping not to be alone for long, Max found a chair and decided to take a seat.
