The soft sound of crunching grass beneath small feet was heard as the young lady approached. She stood at a whopping 5'7", and carried a warm smile upon her face. Her hair was a dark blueish hue, stretching down just below her shoulders. Sparkling brown eyes stared out at the world ahead, anticipating the journey to come. Her wardrobe was a simple one; A red skirt, short in length but still acceptable for a high school's dress code; A tight white shirt was snug against her skin; A grey shirt, with a low V-neck, layered on top of the white one, creating a stunning outfit. Across her petite shoulders was draped a large yellow bag, sporting several zippers and pockets to hold the supplies needed for the path ahead. Inside was hidden a red scarf, rarely worn in the hot summer but a marvelous accesory in the colder months. The shoes that covered her feet were more fitted to be called boots, reaching halfway up her shins and holding a wonderful red hue. All covered the small frame of Maria Caudill, Experienced Pokemon Trainer.
Yes, experienced she was. In fact, she had been a top competitor in the Hoenn League, battling through 3 of the elite four! But the crushing defeat she suffered at the hands of her fourth foe was too much to bare, and she stopped training. Her father, the wise man that he is, knew this was a foolish move on her part. Such potential should not be discarded, but trained into strength. He was a king at the art of persuasion, and talked Maria into setting her sights on a new region - Lanorae. That was what brought her to where she is today; standing in front of the ivory lab doors. She was in a new world, never explored by any of her family, and was ready for a fresh start.
She stood still, her mahogany eyes scanning over the pearly doors, a bit of nervousness creeping into her veins. She semi-reluctantly raised her fist to the door, smacking it against it four times. She pulled it away quickly, waiting a few moments for a reply. When the door did not budge, she cocked her head to the side, a little confused. Was the Professor here?
She decided on throwing away her politeness to open the door. She did just that, grasping the metal handle and pulling the doors open, just enough for her to slide inside. Her eyes widened a bit as she glanced around the spacious room. The white walls were decorated with livid paintings, she assumed had been done by the professor herself. Large bookcases were also in her view, each adorned with several books of various topics. She took a few steps forward, peering into another section of the lab and seeing a few tables, each decorated with occupied pokeballs. Her heart raced as she saw the collection of pokemon, each ready to be claimed by a trainer. She beamed with glee, parting her pink lips to call out for assistance.
" Hello?!" she said, a bit loud for her liking. She glanced around, waiting anxiously as if a lab assistant could pop out of a door at any given moment.
