"...And yet you insist to check up on me this early mom?"
...
"Yes."
...
"Of course I remembered my cell phone, how else am I talking to you?"
...
"Yes, yes, yes, I didn't forget anyth-"
...
"Even clean underwear..."
...
"I love you too, bye."
Yugo slammed his cellphone shut, covering his face with his free hand in embarrassment. At least nobody saw him. He couldn't really see any other people on the route, something he wasn't accustomed to. It was weird having absolutely nobody around out in the open like this, he felt so... isolated. He could occasionally hear ruffling of leaves or faint cries of pokemon, so he knew it wasn't completely bare. I guess the pokemon were shy- pokemon!
He almost completely forgot about his own pokemon he had just received from the laboratory. His bulbasaur, Asaka, was in her pokeball, still being clutched in Yugo's left hand. Fumbling with the foreign device, he stopped in his tracks to try and figure it out. He never really paid attention on how the pokemon trainers on T.V. could open the pokeballs. He just saw them hold them outwards, and calling out their pokemon's name. As he turned the red and white sphere around in his hands he noticed the button right at the front could be pushed in. "Aha..." He mumbled to himself, as he turned the front of the pokeball to face away from him.
"Asaka, you can come out now," He said with a mix of gentleness and forced confidence. He pressed the button and immediately a flash of light came from the ball. It faded just as quick as it came, and his bulbasaur was now sitting back on her hind legs, looking up at Yugo. "Hey," he said to her, slowly crouching down to her level, though still being about a foot taller, "I'm Yugo, your new trainer. We've just left the lab, and we're on a path to the next city."
The bulbasaur looked excited and nodded its head. "Bulba!" She replied enthusiastically. Her red eyes looked rather soft and light, rather than the menacing feeling that the color suggests. She looked very healthy, and her bulb was very bright and strong.
"We should keep on moving though, we can't make any progress standing still!" He chuckled a bit to himself, getting back up to his own feet. Asaka simply responded by getting back up on all fours and turning around to keep on walking. She seemed to really like being out with nature. She seemed to be more bright and bubbly than when she was in the lab.
