The dark sky still haunted Max as he walked on through the head grasses of Route 1. Thinking once again why he was continuing this journey, the thought popped into his head. He had his own Pokemon now. Why hadn't he released it at the lab? It was time now.
"Iglora, come on out!" As he threw the ball, it snapped open, revealing the o-so familiar red light that housed Pokemon. This light had baffled Max many a time, it able to suck up Pokemon, any kind, and house them. What was it like in there? Was it like a five star hotel, or a cardboard box? He hoped it was the first, wishing nothing but the best for his, or any, Pokemon out there. After the light had danced from ball to ground, it finally shaped to it's true form, a raptor like Pokemon named Iglora.
Winking in the actual light of day, the Grass Pokemon first looked at it's feet, then at the sky, then at Max. Seeing Max, it's eyes widened to the size that could rival a saucer plate and he gave a short, but high pitched "Igggg!" It started to run away, obviously surprised and terrified, but the sight of those haunting Murkrows came upon the Pokemon, and it now had new fears.
Sprinting back to Max, the Iglora shook and hid behind the legs of the Trainer, though the concealment was next to none. Concerned about his new charge, Max flipped open the Pokedex he had received and looked up Iglora. Reading through the text provided for him, Max could see no hint as to why the peculiar Pokemon was frightened of almost everything it saw. The 'Dex said it was in it's nature to be hyper, but this was ridiculous. Crouching down, Max got as close to eye level that he could, and said "It's OK little fellow. I'm your trainer, and I am here to protect you from your fears, which appears to be everything."
Still looking a bit shaken, the Iglora finally came out of hiding behind it's makeshift 'Leg Fort'. "How about we name you Iggy!" Max beamed as the named rolled of his tongue. He may not have been the most clever of names, but it would still fit the scared-of-his-own-shadow Pokemon. Hearing the name, the Iglora also seemed to perk up a bit. Tightening his muscles, then releasing the Grass dinosaur sprung into the air. At leas the Pokedex had been right about something.
Now that his Pokemon was out, and sort of calm, Max could now glance at his surroundings. The usual cries of Starlies and Pidgeys had long been replaced with the croaks and belts of Murkrow. The grass was drooping slightly from the lack of sunshine. It was a very foreboding place, but there had to be Pokemon inside. Glancing around some more, a dead tree came into view. It looked as if a giant had grabbed the tree by the trunk and turned it upside down, the decaying branches looking nothing like full branches, but instead along the lines of dead roots. Maybe this housed some Pokemon. There wasn't even a stir as Max made his way to the tree, creepy.
Courageous enough to trust its new-found owner, Iggy jumped, almost like a Kangaroo would, next to Max, both Trainer and Pokemon making the trek through the grass together. In his mind, Max has decided to keep Iggy out with him, to build up the morale of his fearful Pokemon and to have some company in this terrible weather. That queen Pokemon the assistance has mention was still on the top of Max's mind, every sound, even slight, would set off his fear senses, causing him to go into panic mode. The trek, about three minutes, but what felt like an eternity, was finally complete and the tree was almost right infront of Max.
"Well, Iggy. I guess we are here. Let's just wait around and see what pops up. I have a feeling these creepy birds are going to drive most of the Pokemon away, but we should get lucky."
At the mention of scary birds, Iggy started to yelp a little. Max patted him on the hard to calm him down, maybe that would be enough. Now, the waiting commenced.
