Although Hayden had chosen to keep Videlicet in her Pokeball until the time came to release her for battle, he could not help but keep pressing a hand to the cold metal sphere, contemplating whether it would be better for her to crawl along than sit inside the sphere all this time. Aiden, at the first chance that had presented itself, released his Firecub, which he had named Ferocitas, and was now walking along with his hands shoved into his pockets, while the Fire-type padded along right beside him, purring contentedly, the fire along his back and tail flickering merrily.
"So. . . what do you reckon we'll see first?" Aiden finally voiced, breaking the silence that had ensued since they'd named their starters.
Hayden cast a small glance around him, and then upward at the threatening sky, eying it in askance.
"If it's one of those Murkrow up there, I really wouldn't care too much. I'm not too fond of Fliers. Nor Murkrow in general."
His brother shrugged nonconclusively, and folded his hands behind his head in a bored fashion.
"Well, I wish something would happen. . ."

The cool winds of Autumn blew along the pass as the two human trainers walked down the Prairie path. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened today, which was well, since Route 1 was usually the most uneventful of any place. The only significant thing worth paying attention to was the dark Murkrow that gathered overhead, waiting for their master. The fact was very creepy to most, and most of the wild Pokemon were out hiding. Most...
A chirp and squawk was heard as two bird Pokemon were at each other's throats. A Pidgey leaped in the air, somersaulting, then diving in with it's sharp peak to a Starly's unprotected back side. The Starly, however, made a quick roll with her wings and escaped the sure-to-be-painful blow. This whole commotion was creating a ruckus so loud most other Pokemon had bounded away. Someone had to break it up, before the two hurt each other.
Lying on the ground, only but a few feet away was an Oran Berry. Had that been the cause of this huge debacle? Bird Pokemon were usually overprotective, but was this border line obsessive? [/sub]
