Entry Number 1:
I'm writing now from the seclusion of an old, rotting tree with my new Pokemon, Iggy. Well, I better not get to ahead of myself. It has been a whirlwind in Lanorae, but in reality at has only been a couple of hours. What a strange place this Lanorae is.
The boat ride over here was enjoyable to say the most, the mass amount of people on the boat could have been cut, and I would have to say that there must be a Stunky and Skuntank convention around here, because you wouldn't believe how many of those smelly Pokemon there were. I mean, jeez, couldn't they have come on another boat?
Anyways, the boat docked and I descended off, only to find that Seaside Village, the town with the Lab in it, looked a little deserted and dark. Murkrows were everywhere. Later I learned why. A mythical Pokemon, who isn't that mythical but more realistic to me, is said to come and find a boy every 500 or some odd years. But it's only been 50, the townspeople say she obtained the wrong one last time, what luck for me, huh.
All the people jubilantly got off the boat. I, myself, was ecstatic about getting a Pokemon, and I wouldn't let the Dark birds throw me off. Dispersing, the crowd off people all headed off to a house with a pier, maybe for fishing, or down Route 1. Most were veteran trainers, so they all wanted to take off on their journeys down Route 1. But I was a newbie, so I first needed a Pokemon. Spotting the lab at a distance, I booked it over there. Arriving at the totally chromed put lab, the doors slid neatly open for me, don't a feel special.
Coming in, a made my arrival an announcement and called out. After a few, a woman and her Pokemon came running out. The bird Pokemon, I later found out was named Song, was squawking and making quite a scene, the assistant saying it was because of the darkness. Hey, if I was a Pokemon, I wouldn't be too fond of the dark either. The scene finally came to an end as the bird calmed itself, and I finally got to ask the assistant for a Pokemon, and about the Murkrows, but I already explained that, now didn't I.
The Pokemon I wanted was one of the new species that only Lanorae boasted, the Grass raptor, Iglora. Lucky for me, she had one on stock, but is it the right one for me? You'll hear more on that later, for now let me just speed up to Route 1. I packed my pack so I knew where everything was and everything was neat and organized. Said my good-byes to the Assistant, and finally set down the path to Route One: High Prairie. Here is where the creepy part comes in. On the Route, everything seemed joyless, the cries of Pidgeys and Starlies I had expected to hear were replaced with the repulsive croaks of Murkrows. The Prairie seemed to be wilting, though in small increments, the difference was still tell-able. Trying to get this image out of my mind, I decided to catch the sight of my Pokemon.
Enlarging the red and white orb, I threw it up into the air. The strange, yet fascinating red light made its appearance, for however briefly it was, then formed to the shape of a tiny dinosaur, my Iglora. The only thing was, I was expecting a happy go-lucky, bouncing Iggy, the name of my green raptor. But instead I received a terrified, afraid-of-his-own-shadow Iglora. When he saw me, he ran away, when he saw a Murkrow, he ran back to me. He just couldn't make up his mind. After a few minutes of comforting words from yours truly, the little fellow seemed to relax a bit, maybe he wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe.
After Trainer met Pokemon, it was time to actually do what I came here to do, catch and train Pokemon. So, as I write this, I am currently waiting on a wild Pokemon to come out, however scarce they maybe. Maybe after a while I will have a Pokemon to write about to you again, journal, but until that time, Hobey-Ho!
