Sigurd's parent's told him to seek out Team Diamond in the Lanorae. He never questioned them once. They said that he could begin his 'journey' there. He finally saw the building and smiled, the building was black, like his suit.
Sigurd made his way to the other side of the electric fence and toward the lab, he knew he would probably find someone there. He strolled up to the lab and ran his right hand across the side of his blonde hair. He casual proceeded to knock on the door not even checking if the place had a doorbell.

The door seemed to be automatic, for as soon as Sigurd knocked it opened on its own accord, revealing the labratory inside. The floor was tiled, as most labs seemed to be, and the whole room seemed to be rather dark, lit only by dim blacklights that hung from the ceiling.
A slight growl was audible as the door opened, which came from the throat of a Luxray that seemed to be acting as a sort of guard. Its body was flashing with electrical energy, a warning for the intruder to present themself as friend or foe, however, a voice calmed the Pokemon's flickering energy.
"Calm yourself, Rakku..." a man had just stepped out of the elevator that decorated the back wall, his black trench coat swinging around his ankles as he strode quickly forward. A Lucario stepped quietly at his side, its arms crossed as it padded after its master. The man's long black and purple hair hung in his dark eyes, and he seemed to grin slightly.
"So, you're a new Diamond recruit correct?" he asked simply, choosing to get right to the point. "What's your name?" The man was in charge of all new recruits at the moment, until they got a steady professor. Professors didn't want to stay around long for some reason it seemed...

Sigurd was right inside the door now, the growl hadn't been much of a shock to him, he probably could have expected something of the sort. Before the man spoke to he had time to try and look at the visible part of the lab, the darkness was odd as many labs were brightly lit.
He spoke politely to the man, "Yes, sir. I am not sure if you were expecting me or not but my parents sent me, my name is Sigurd Alphonse Fortuna." Sigurd realized he probably said more than this man needed to hear but it was too late now.

"Right... right..." the man seemed to really just be saying that make it seem like he really, honestly, cared in even the least bit about why Sigurd was here. Really, he didn't care to hear about a member's reasoning, all he cared was that they remained loyal. If they didn't, well, that's what his Pokemon were for right. He seemed to be quickly writing the name down on a pad of paper he had picked up off a desk that stood in a corner of the lab.
"Well, I'd be Kanaye, head admin of the Diamond organization," the man said simply. "You've already met Rakku," the Luxray growled slightly and nodded curtly, "and the Lucario is my partner Ryau. He is quite able to write clearly, so if I am ever not present you take orders from him."
The Lucario merely blinked, turning his head slightly to show a slim scar stretching down over his right eye. It probably came from some battle in the past, though it was highly doubtful the fighting and steel type was going to go into exactly what happened.
"So then, I suppose you need a Pokemon..." Kanaye looked back up from the pad of paper and back at Sigurd. "Are you familiar with any of the ones we have available or do I have to go and let them all out..." He seemed to be rather irritable at the moment, probably some trouble going on up where the elevator lead.

Sigurd could tell from the man's initial response that it would have been better if he just stated his name. Sigurd of course now wanted to make a better impression, though he wasn't sure how to go about it. The Lucario's scar intrigued him greatly though he thought it best not to ask about it.
On the matter of pokemon, Sigurd wasn't completely sure what pokemon they had, but he did here they had one from Lanorae, it would be a good pick probably. "No sir, I don't know which ones you have though, I did hear that you have a pokemon from Lanorae... That would be the one I'd have to pick." Sigurd knew nothing about the pokemon unique to this region and thought it might be best if he start with one from it.

"Hmph, the Procyn? You sure, maybe I'd best at least let /that/ one out first..." Kanaye still sounded rather annoyed, though at what exactly he didn't seem to be revealing. "Misutai!" he barked suddenly, turning his purple gaze to the denser shadows. "Get the runt's Pokeball!"
A rather lithe Ninetails appeared out of the shadows, a Pokeball clased tightly in her mouth. She seemed to nod slightly and dropped it on the ground, causing it to spring open and emit a bright red flash as it released the Pokemon inside.
A small, rodent-like Pokemon appeared with a loud 'cheeping' sound, looking around curiously as it stood on its hind legs. Procy pro!" it squealed, its red and yellow eyes darting around quickly as it flicked its ears forward. Its small paws were black tipped, as were its ears, though most of its body was a pale grey. It seemed to have a black mask on its face, and a small stup of a tail that had a single black, zig-zag stripe around it.
"Is that what you want?" Kanaye pointed carelessly at the Procyn as his Ninetails bared her teeth at it, causing the poor thing to jump and cower, pressing its body close to the ground with a loud squeak.

Suddenly Sigurd was filled with a sense of doubt... Perhaps his first instinct wasn't as great as he believed? "Hmmm... Maybe it isn't the best choice... *sighs* So who else do you have besides him?" Hopefully Sigurd's indecisiveness wouldn't annoy who was essentially now Sigurd's boss.
Sigurd was somewhat disappointed that the choice wouldn't be as easy as he initially thought it might be.

Kanaye seemed to be muttering something about how people should know what they want /before/ they come in but glanced at his Ninetails. "Misutai, get the other four..." he said simply.
The Ninetales sighed, but disappeared into the shadows again and soon after four more Pokeballs were rolled out. Simultainously, they sprang open, releasing their contents.
There was a Machop, a muscle packed Pokemon that rather resembled a small human. It had a small tail and a crest crowned its head. It flexed its arms, showing off large muscles.
Then there was a smooth, purple, snake-like Pokemon. An Ekans. It rattled its tail, a smooth film coasting down over its yellow eyes, the snake version of blinking.
Third was a black dog with what looked like a skull on its forehead. It growled loudly, showing of pointed fangs. It was a Houndour, a fire and dark type dog.
The final Pokemon looked like some sort of kid really, with a yellow body and large, bright eyes. However, what one would think was a ponytai was wide and agape, showing large fangs. A Mawile.
"Pick one..." Kanaye said simply, pointing at the five Pokemon that now stood on the floor. "And make it quick, I have work to do..."

Sigurd had to be quick to decide, this may have affected his decision making skills badly but he still went on with it, "I apologize sir, I will take the ekans sir." He had probably made him angry and wish he had been more decisive early, he felt he made a bad first impression.

After receiving this pack, Sigurd bowed at Kanaye respectfully, "Yes sir, thank you sir." Sigurd started walking out backwards just in case Kanaye had anything else to say to him. Sigurd was finally getting the chance to train his own pokemon.

Kanaye and his Lucario, Ryau, had already started walking back towards the elevator and disappeared into it, leaving Misutai and Rakku to guard the 'lobby' as it seemed to be.
Now that his trainer was gone, Rakku began growling loudly, his fur crackling with electricity as a sort of warning. Perhaps it was best for Sigurd to leave, right away.
You may now continue on to route one.
