"Now, be a good boy and have some fun. I'll come to pick you up later, okay?"
The words of his mistress still ringed in the cub's ears, which twitched in excitement as he approached the Battle Pit. A few Pokemon around had been commenting about it being recently opened, and looking simply awesome. "She did say to have fun... Right?!" The Firecub thought to himself, tail slashing and trashing about wildly behind him in pure bliss. He'd train and have fun! And when Ciara came back he could make her proud(er).
"Wow! Look at the size of this place! It's huge! Oh, you there! I want to enter the Battle Pit, do you know what I have to do? I'm new around here..."
Spotting a Marowak the Firecub had cantered off in her direction without a second thought, a grin eternally plastered in his features.Leiro Vulcanus | Pokemon Trainer: Ciara Sukio | Current Level: 05 | Wins: -- | Losses: -- |

"Hmmm?" the Marowak had seemed to be snoozing while leaning against a rock, her crimson eyes closed. However, now they opened, showing surfaces that revealed both age and wisdom, and with both came an endless supply of experience.
"Our first challenger then?" her voice seemed to crack slightly, showing that she was indeed a rather old Pokemon, however, the way she held herself showed that she was in fact still at the height of her battling career, even though she didn't really battle much anymore. "Fine, fine... so then, you have a companion you wish to battle or do you want me to find someone?" Her voice was a bit snappish, but, it wasn't to imply she was completely unfriendly. "Either way, I'm your overseer, Vilian..." the female Marowak absently twirled the large bone she had between the fingers of her left hand before planting it on the ground and fixing her ruby eyes on the young fire type.[/sup]

"Vilian? Hi! I'm Leiro Vulcanus!"
Well, he definitely had a name... Long one at that. At the Marowak's question of having a battling companion the Firecub shook his head, sitting on his rump as his tail flickered behind him in pure bliss and excitement. So, would she get him someone to battle him then?
"Oh, that's a pretty bone!!! Where did you got it?"
One would expect such a question to come from a canine, not a feline... Ah well, that was Leiro for you.

'<From my mother...>' Vilian said simply, turning away for a moment. '<Leiro Vulcanus you say? Well, that's a creative name>' She seemed to survey the battle area around her before her eyes settled on a small, white and blue squirrel-like Pokemon. '<Hmm, you, Pachirisu, come over here will you?>' The Pokemon jumped but nodded eagerly, darting over and looking at the two Pokemon. '<Hiya!>' it said cheerfully. Female. Vilian looked back at Leiro. '<If you agree she is a satisfactory partner, go ahead and take your place on the battle field>' She said, blinking her crimson eyes.[/sup]

Oh, this should be interesting enough.
The Firecub blinked, looking as the Pachirisu came over - before the paifully cheery greeting came... And was returned by an even painful one of his own. "Hi!!!" The feline grinned, waving his tail pleasantly.
Maybe he thought the rodent was a meal?
Hearing Vilian the Firecub nodded before leaping over to the battle arena - rump high as the Pokemon waited for the Pachirisu.
"Ladies first! Right?

'<Sounds good to me!>' the small, squirrel-like electric type chittered happily, flicking her tail. '<Okay then! Here I come!>' She dropped down on all fours and suddenly seemed to disappear as she sped forward full speed. Her small paws grabbed the ground, pulling her onward as she used Quick Attack. She didn't seem to be aiming for a specific part of the Firecub, just at the young fire type. Vilian leaned back to watch, her observant crimson eyes focused on the two young Pokemon. Well, there had been no foul play yet, meaning there was no reason for her to step in. After all, she had left her battling career, she now only battled if she had to. "Woah! You are fast!! Sweet!"
The Firecub commented, watching the Pachirisu almost disappear and become a blurb heading for him. The young cub dung his claws on the ground for support, taking the Quick Attack head on and trying to pass as much impact to the earth as possible. He did skid back a feet or so, but that was ok - for it gave him more space to maneuver.
"Ok! Now it's my turn!"
And then he rammed forwards, using his own Takle attack against the Pachirisu that had just struck him from ahead. Hopefully he was quick enough to hit her, and had a faint element of surprise on his side...

The Pachirisu laughed happily, twitching her tail happily as the Firecub charged at her. '<This battle's already fun!>' she said happily, smiling to show off her tiny, rodent-like teeth. '<However! You'll have to do better than that to catch me!>' She suddenly dropped down on all fours again and shot out of the way of the Tackle with another Quick Attack, clearing the charge easily. Apparently, this battle was going to be a bit different from wild Pokemon battles, this Pachirisu seemed to be trained to use her techniques for both offence and defense. Leiro had better watch out for her! Vilian smirked to herself, knowing full well what that Pachirisu was capable of. After all, she had been coming here since level one and had been learning from the master, now, hadn't she?[/sup]

Well, now his was even more interesting. The Firecub watched the Pachirisu easily clear away from his Tackle, taking a moment to ponder his next move. Well, if he couldn't hit her then he had to make sure her attacks didn't hurt him to their fullest - or this battle would be over fast. So summing all his strenght he let out a nice Growl to weaken the Pachirisu's attack strenght. She might be kick, but there was no way to out run the speed of sound - at least no humanely possible way.
"I'll just have to change my game a bit the, won't I?"
The Firecub was enjoying this challenge - it was easily notisable by the way his flames brightly formed. And now he waited for the Pachirisu's next move, trying to think a step ahead of her to try and counter whatever she might throw. This was like a chess game, really. The one thinking ahead of their opponent would be the winner in the end - so as long as you didn't made any fatal errors.
