"Ratta! Ratta! Rattata!!!
His ego currently boosting through the air and into space, the small purple rodent didn't even think twice before rushing at the Firecub with yet another Quick Attack of his own - not even bothering to do a Tail Whip or anything before it. Gaining more and more speed soon a blur of white was all the trail left by the rodent as he advanced on the feline.
I wonder, if Ladyflicker jumped to the side... Would the rodent be able to stop at all?
Of course, the Rattata's mind wasn't even the least bit focused on it - he was just thinking on how much glory he would take once he beat the crap out of the feline. Hah! That would show those cats to take rodents more seriously!
"Rattata!!!"

ooc:// Aw, man. ;o; Okay, then what can I do? Umm... jumping right onto Wild Rattata is a viable choice, rioght? 83
Ladyflicker glared. She was not going to loose this battle. Loosing to a rodent of all creatures was one heck of a way to loose all of your dignity. The fire-type's orange fur bristled in rage, showing off her ivories, and the flames which covered a portion of her body dancing brightly, the intensity of i's burn maximizing. No way was this Firecub going to loose. That was certainly not an acception of any sort. With one last, loud meow, Ladyflicker jumped, preparing to pounce on the Wild Rattata, using her knowledge of human life to estimate where she would go. Living with humans gave you the edge, didn't it?
Ex quickly looked around her bag for anything that might slow the Wild Rattata down. A rock, her camera, anything in particular! Absolutely anything that wasn't of importance and could slow that annoying mouse down! Panicing, the teenager could only keep herself happy knowing that it was better than having those boys in her class making fun of her. With a graon if dispair Ex resulted to watch, empty pokéball in hand incase she ahd to end the battle quickly.

"Ra-Rattata!!! Ra, rattata! Ra, ra!!"
Ladyflicker's idea had worked, for the pounce-like Tackle had caught the rodent off-guard. And, being so lithe in comparison to the Firecub, it was easy for her to take him over, and pin the rat to the ground now. Struggling and twitching the purple furred rodent tried to become free - hissing and spitting. He even tried to somehow Tackle the Firecub in a head-butt like manner - though no doubt his efforts were futile at the moment. Well, it seemed this battle's tide had turned - and now the gods were smiling down at Ex and Ladyflicker instead of the wild Rattata.

"Yay, Ladyflicker! Think you can do that gravity powered tackle-thing again? You know, when you stand on your front paws and let yourself fall down onto that thing? Can ya, can ya, can ya?" Ex asked in an over excited fashion, jumping up and down at the sight. Already about to drop the empty pokéball, Ex watched from afar, somewhat joyous about the next fight. Although she had been... more than 'scared' at the begining, the battle finally turned around! Yay!
"Freeeier," Ladyflicker 'meowed' softly, in her little Firecub way (I decided the meld the word meow with fire so she says Freir as opposed to Meow), quickly moving her head out from Wild Rattata's grasp. Instead of that neat acrobatics trick which had worked with Skiever when he was still wild, Ladyflicker also tried to pound her shoulder onto Wild Rattata in a shoulder-tackle. Different than the gravity powered tackle and the headbutt like tackle, but with still the same results. Now, as long as the annoying mouse stayed in place...

The attack seemed to work, for the Rattata didn't had enough time to move out of the way. Thus, when Ladyflicker came crashing down on him, the rodent already weak and tired from battling, the attack was enough to finish what was left of his health - thus fainting the rodent. Now the purple Pokemon lied there, unconscious and ready for capture if so Ex wished.
Event! Ladyflicker gains 2 levels for defeating a level 7 wild Rattata! You may now catch the wild male Rattata if you desire!

"Yippee, Ladyflicka'! Think you'll be okay? " The happy- if not slightly overwhelmed by the fact that the Firecub managed to defeat the Wild Rattata when the battle seemed against them- trainer questioned, walking up towards the orange flame lion. Kneeling down to the level of her Firecub, Ex prodded Wild Rattata with the empty pokéball, wondering if it was still alive. With a sigh and a grin the trainer quickly tapped Wild Rattata again with the same red and white sphere, only with the white button against the mouse's purple fur. Swiftly did the rat turn into a crimson flash, being absorbed into the pokéball. Now, for the waiting game... " Freeeir," Ladyflicker purred, rolling onto her back in the playful way most of her kind did. Flicking her bright orange tail, the Firecub turned to the pokéball, also waiting patiently for the ball to stop. So she could play with it, anyways. Bright amber eyes stared down at the pokéball, like the way her trainer stared down. Ladyflicker also begged that no surprise pokémon would pop up again. Like the pidgey or the rattata. Especially not one that hated cats. Like herself. " Freeeirer..."

Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake...
The Poke'Ball seemed to defy the laws of nature, as if the rodent inside was willing himself to be free - even though he had no strenght left to fight of his capture. Still, he could delay it... And that's exactly what the Rattata did.
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake... Ping!
Finally, that soun you and Ladyflicker had been waiting for a few miutes y now finally rung, the button on the Poke'Ball settling from a flashing red to it's natural white, and the sphere becoming still among the long blades. Better pick that up before you forget exacly where it is located.
Congratulations! You caught the Rattata!
Name: -- Gender: Male Level: 7 Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy Ability: Guts - Attack raises to 1.5 times when induced with a status (Burn, Paralyze, Sleep, Poison, Freeze). Burn’s effect of lowering Attack is not applied. Personality: Spunky, determined and stubborn, this rodent is one who isn't scared of taking on an enemy bigger than himself -- and it shouldn't be a surprise if he could actually pull out a win from his sleeves. Cunning and with a sharp mind, he dedicates himself to swift and fast combinations. A bit on the vain side as well, and often grooming his purple fur, this Rattata is very self-conscious of his appearance [as all Casanovas], and probably won't be evolving any time soon, if given the chance. After all, rumors say Raticates are quite scruffy and ugly looking - and he definitely doesn't want to look like that. Experience Points: 0 Hold Item: None
Well, everything else seemed to settle down for the time being, except for the countless of Murkrows flying overhead. Still, it was getting considerably dark, and even Ladyflicker's flames were barely visible at some point in this lack of light. Perhaps you should head to a near Pokemon center - and heal your new team mates and Ladyflicker while the darkness clears out? After all, it's hard to train when you have two fainted pokemons and one tired Firecub on your side.

ooc:// Ah! Shrimp-Chan returns! *glomps*
"So... anyone know which way is towards the next town? " The trainer asked softly in a gentle but quite scared voice. Picking up the pokéball (she had lost sight of it until that bright red flash brightened up the prairies) Ex stuffed it into her bag and looked back at Ladyflicker would was scratching at her ears. After that battle, she really did win the chance to scratch away at a little itch behind her head. With a sigh, ML looked about, trying to see in the heavy blanket of midnight. Even though it was still morning... " Frir," Ladyflicker purred gently, quite proud for her little accomplishment. Standing up and walking up to her trainer's side, the Firecub only hoped that nothing else on the route wanted a fight. Well, her trainer could use a Potion at any time, so Ladyflicker didn't see any reason to worry. Flicking her tail, trying to give the place a bit of light, Ladyflicker pondered on those Murkrow. Those pokémon where rather new to the Lanorae fire starter. Although her trainer seemed oddly comfortable with them.

"Krow?"
From up the skies a figure slowly dove down, the black feathered bird now gliding through the air and darkness while it inspected Ladyflicker and Ex. Yellow beak gleamed, oddly enough, even in this darkness, and soon the crow pokemon had landed on the ground - just a few feeet away from girl and Firecub.
"Murkrow? Krow..."
It seemed to continue inspecting the duo, tilting his head to the side lightly every now and then.Event!
You have spotted a male Murkrow!

"Yay! Murkrow!" With a rather preppy sounding giggle (which made Ladyflicker rather wary), Ex eyed to pokémon with delight. Murkrow where pretty strong. And their evolutions, the Honchkrow, where really cool! First comes first, though. Grabbing a Potion from her bag- yes, that funny little spray bottle that reminded Ex of those aerosal cans at home which where primarily used to remove the stink from the air. Quickly spraying it onto the Firecub which she had recieved from the laboratory, Ex felt that it wasn't needed to tell Ladyflicker what to do.
"Freeeir!" Ladyflicker meower loudly, the closest thing she could get to a roar. Jumping in front of the dark-type bird, Ladyflicker sent a Tackle attack without warning, flames shimmering in a dazzling fashion. Paws pounding against the ground with a mighty force, the small fire-type prepared to, once again, wage war with the Wild Murkrow. If she could beat a Wild Pidgey, what couldn't she do with the Wild Murkrow? Ah, well, looks like we'll have to wait and see.

Before he knew it, or could react, the Firecub collided with his fram - sending the Murkrow tumbling backwards in a heap of feathers.
"Krow!!! Murkrow!!! Mur... KROW!!!"
Here he was, minding his own business and checking the new company along the Route - and this idiotic trainer suddenly sent her Firecub to beat the living daylights out of him. Cawing rather loudly, and in an angered fashion, the Murkrow took flight. From up there his crimson eyes locked on the Firecub, before diving down in a spiraling manner towards the feline. Half way there he changed tactics, suddenly diving vertically instead and gaining momentum - yellow shimering beak aimed for Ladyflicker in a Peck attack.
"Krow!!!"
Oh, he;d show them a lesson for messing around with him. And all he had wanted was to inspect them and see if they perhaps had some food. Ah well, too late for formalities now.

"Oh, shii.., " Refraining from swearing loudly (Ex didn't know why she made herself stop. Not like there was anyone around) ML covered her mouth as Ladyflicker was suddenly jabbed and sent into a tree. Mentally slapping herself for not waiting and getting the Murkrow upset, Ex wondering what she could do. Well, at school, the puppy dog eyes and a few nice words worked. And school ain't that different than the wild. " Uh... uhm... I'm sorry mister Murkrow!" The teenager spoke, giving the bird some puppy dog eyes with a sincere face. " We just wanted to... um.. get your attention! But, I'm soo sorry! That was the wrong thing to do! You just caught my attention with your beautiful feathers and... uhh... graceful demeanor!" Well, Ex didn't know if 'demeanor' was the right word to use, but it was close enough. { ... Ow,} Ladyflicker meowed quietly to herself, looking at the spot where that Wild Murkrow had hit. It was pretty badly bruised even through the bright orange pelt Firecub donned. With a sneer of disapproval, Ladyflicker was about to let out a Tackle attack, until she saw what her trainer was doing. Thinking that the girl was crazy to an extent, Ladyflicker decided to watch what was going on. Oddly enough, that sparkly eyes and sweet voice was kind of... believable. ooc:// True story: I give a friend puppy eyes, she starts squealing. Goes for all of my friends. So what's so different about a Wild Murkrow? xD

"Murkrow... Murkrow!!!!"
irst they get him into a battle, and now she was trying to swee-talk him out of it? Was this some kind of mockery or something?! Irritated the crow-like pokemon ruffled his dark hued feathers, flaring his wings out to appear more intimidating, before cawing over and over again.
"Murkrow! Murkrow! Murkrow!"
However, in this whole show of irritation the pokemon forgot to attack... Perhaps this was a good change for Ladyflicker to land in a good hit and get payback for that last Peck?

Watching the dark/flying-type yell angrily, Ex quickly jumped behind a thorn bush, peering out at the black bird from behind the mahogany, needle covered, wire-like branches. Watching the Murkrow caw intimidatingly, she wondered if she should catch this one or not. He looked as if he wouldn't listen if Ex even tried to reason. And since that sweet, puppy dog eyes didn't worked, Ex figured that her only choice was a battle. Scared, frightened, and added to that, the sky was darkening!
You couldn't blame ML- she was still just a plain Rustboro girl.
"Eep! Lady, can you go for a Tackle?" ML pondered out loud, looking at her beloved Firecub who had been watching from afar. Ladyflicker quickly jumped back into a fighting stance, hissing at Wild Murkrow with the fullest intent to grip that bird into shreds! Imagnie, a feline being pummeled by a bird of all thigns! That swarming omen was going to pay. And Ladyflicker was going to make sure he paid dearly, even if the Firecub was the one who let out the first attack!!!
"Freeeeeeee!!" Ladyflicker hissed, pawing the ground. The claws, which had by now unsheathed from behind the bright orange pelt, made deep grooves in the dirt, signaling the fact that this Firecub's playful nature had been forgotten. With one last hiss, Ladyflicker ran towards Wild Murkrow for a Tackle attack, her fire tipped tail lashing about to the beat of Ladyflicker's movemets. This time, the usual pounce that been forgotten, but the viciousness certainly had not!

The Tackle landed, right in the chest of the dark bird -- and thus sending him tumbling back in a heap of feathers. Getting back on his feet the Murkrow growled at Ladyflicker - though the fact the Firecub was at a higher level plus she had just connected a Critical Hit were beginning to show. Yellow beak as open, the bird panting, before the Murkrow took to the skies and dove down. He was using Peck, yet again.

"Eep... umm... dodge it!" Ex squeeked, still hidng behind her thorn bush. Black hair caught in some of the thick vines, Ex grumbled as she watched the battle in dismay. Her hair, as far as anyone was concerned, was th best part of her! And now it was stuck in a thorn bush. Well, at least Ex had some good shampoo and conditioner in her bag when she got to the next town! Oh, wait, wrong thing to talk about! So, what was going on?
Ladyflicker tried to jump over the Wild Murkrow only to have the sharp, yellow beak collide with her tender belly, sending the fire-type flying though the air and landing on a heep of leaves. The Firecub growled angrily, jumping up, and glaring at the Wild Murkrow. Although the attack wasn't as strong as that critical hit Tackle attack, it very much stung, and Ladyflicker wasn't in the greatest mood right now. Especially right now. Where had the days gone, sitting around in the lab, waiting for a starter of some kind?
Lashing her tail about, Ladyflicker decided to go for a Tail Whip instead. It could catch that bird off guard, right?... Maybe.

The Tail Whip did lower the bird's defenses, though he was far too annoyed and irritated to even realize such thing. Didn't mean the Tail Whip didn't had an effect, though. And so, this time the bird dashed towards the Firecub - using his Pursuit attack. ot that it mattered much, unless Ex had been planning on switching Ladyflicker out.
"Murkrow!"

No, Skiever and the newly caught Rattata, now called Spaiker, wheren't fully healed and Ex didn't want to use any more Potions. So, the Pursuit attack, being pretty much what it was...
Ladyflicker jumped when she saw the bird running (or flying) after her. Although the pace in which Wild Murkrow was flying at was pretty normal, a surprise if this was a normal attack, Ladyflicker knew the attack Pursuit all too well. With a scared little meow, Ladyflicker statred to run about with Wild Murkrow chasing after her. Pursuit was a very annoying attack as far as Ladyflicker was concerned. The user wouldn't stop running unless this attack hit so it was pretty much something alogn the unmissable line but not totally flawless. For one thing it's power wasn't very good.
"Umm, ummm, umm, intercept it or something!" Ex squeaked, flailing her arms about aimlessly. Pursuit wasn't a good attack and the only way to really stop it was to do something the use couldn't...
Where Murkrow able to make steep, 90 degree angled turns upwards?
Ladyflicker looked around. There was a stump just sitting there and then a layer of branches above it which would make it pretty hard to go upwards. But then again, the Firecub had different plans. With a smile, Ladyflicker turned around jsut to make sure that Murkrow was still using it's Pursuit attack before turning a running towards... her trainer...
"Ack! Lady, what are you doing?!?! Mommy!!!" The darkness wasn't enough to make all of Ladyflicker's flames go dim as a small glimmer could quite easily be seen. Tugged her hair away from the torn bush, Ex tumbled backwards. Ladyflicker, on the other hand, ran through the thorn bush, hoping that Wild Murkrow would follow her in. And if it did the thing could end up pushing Ladyflicker out of the thorn bush.
And if Wild Murkrow had the sense to stop... well... not good.

In between the whole 'mahem' and the Firecub disappearing into the bush the Murkrow had decided he wasn't getting thorns on his feathers. So the Murkrow did the next sensible thing.
"Murkrow!"
I hope ML "Ex" has good running reflexes, 'cause the Murkrow was now chasing her with his Pursuit.

... Oh, cruud...
Well, for one thing, Ladyflicker was now stuck in a thorny bush. She overcame this threat by simply burning away the thick branches with the flames along her back and tail. With an annoyed grunt as the embers distroyed the thorns which had dug into her flesh, Ladyflicker hit the ground and into the pile of ashes. Now looking like a black Firecub as opposed to the bright orange Firecub she once was, Ladyflicker quickly turned to what was going on. And she was rather surprised...
Although Ex had never been much of a runner, being chased by a Murkrow- or any sort of bird- was soemthing to be scared of. At one point in her lifetime Ex had been chased by a rather angry Golduck and ended up crying all the way through...
Now was no different.
Screaming, Ex jumped up and ran around in circles, trying to avoid Wild Murkrow's Pursuit attack. However, beign the slightly abusive person she was, Ex grabbed something from her bag. A large, heavy textbook with the title 'Legendaries' on it was pulled out and, on instinct, Ex chucked the textbook at Wild Murkrow. Then pulling out another textbook, Ex wondered what had happened.
Ah, life in the wild seemed no different than school. Get angry, toss books at people's head. Once Ex tossed a juicebox all the way across the classroom and it struck the head of another student head on. WH00T-NESS to sudden boost in accuracy. Or plain luck...
