The only thign Ex could say about the dark canvas which had taken the azure blue's place was...
A midnight morning.
Walking briskly through the first route, Ex looked around for any sign of a pokémon worthy of her quest- something with unimaginable speed, or soemthing with undenying vision. Something that could comfirm Ex's hopes and tell her that a happy blue was hidden behind the obsidian black feathrs and bright yellow beaks.
"I swear, there's so much Murkrow up there, that I could spot ten shinies easy!" Ex muttered, although she was just kidding herself. Ladyflicker (or flicka- it depends) seemed to of calmed down, but sniffed at the slightest movement. Had she been in a different scenario, Lady would be playing around with her trainer. But this was different...
The flame which sparkled on the Firecub's tail had grown hot and disastrious, lighting up a bit of grass. Lucky, there wasn't enough grass to really go on fire- Ex knew that and to not worry- besides, she'd been to lost of bonfires, and playing around with the fire before- it had never turned th yard into a blazing inferno when it touche the ground, or when ML's lighted stick touched the ground. Ex was a major pyromaniac (true).
"Well, at least you like the name Ladyflicka. When you evolve, I'll change your name to Lady... something. Once I figure out how this pokédex works- the games are much easier. Hey, maybe you can sniff out for some pokémon! I wanna catch one of those Murkrow- preferably the leader of the group back at Seaside- OW!" Putting a bit too much pressure on her right leg, Ex tumbled on the ground. She had forgotten about her injuries from falling down the stairs twice, and appeared to have suffered from it.
But, anyways...

"Pidge pidge! Pidge pidge! Pidgey!" the frantic cries of a Pidgey could be heard as the brown bird dove from the amassing swarm of Murkrow and landed rather hard on the ground below, at least hard enough that it ended up stumbling a bit as it flapped its wings to regain balance.
The Murkrow that swarmed above in the blackened sky didn't seem to notice the trainer down below, for the moment at least, but sooner or later at least one would dive and attack, just not quite yet. The sky above seemed to be almost pitch black, yet some sunlight was managing to at least light the world slightly, it was almost as if a savage thunderstorm was blanketing the region, except there was no rain or thunder.
"Pidgey!" the Pidgey, however, did notice Ex and her Firecub and it was already angry seeing it had been cast out of the sky by the sudden swarm of dark birds. It needed something to vent its anger on, why not a trainer and her Pokemon? Not only would it help to vent anger, but if it won it would just get that much stronger.
Releasing a loud battle cry, the Pidgey leapt from its perch on the ground and hovered a few feet above it, beating its small wings wildly to keep itself airborne. It never really was the most powerful flier there was, but, eventually, when it evolved, the strength would come as well.
Letting loose another battle cry, the Pidgey dove forward, aiming for Ladyflicka with one of its fierce Tackle attacks. It aimed its beak toward the Firecub's side, chirping madly as it sped closer, and closer, and closer...
Event! Wild Pidgey Is Attacking!

"Wha- AHHH!" Maybe the real world wasn't very much fun. Scrambling up from her spot, flat on the ground, Ex quickly jumped backwards, away from Ladyflicker who was suddenly tossed to the side by a well known pokémon- a Pidgey, to be precise. Glaring at the PokéDex in her grasp, the trainer yelled angrily at it with a rather colouring array of words. This seemed to always work, ML had learned- it worked when she needed something to work (like her computer her frequently abused). The bright red object lit up and Ex quickly went to the fourth pokémon- all starter fire-types where the fourth pokémon, thorough experience had taught her. Finally getting to the attack list for Firecub, Ex wondered what attack was best.
She had to say, these attacks where different than usual- most starters only have one stat reducing and one damaging attack. But enough of her mindless wonders. Eyes turning up to the scene, Ex made out Ladyflicker standing up and glaring at the pidgey with her dangerous eyes. Then, turning to the pidgey, Ex smiled to herself- it was a flying-type and flying-types where one of the fastest types around (but Ninjask appear to be even faster with that Speed Boost ability of theirs). Plus, if she ever got lost, a lookout in the sky was very helpful- Pidgeot where really purdy, too.
Making her decision, Ex reached behind her bag to grab an empty opkéball (it was quite easy to grasp as Ex had put it into the side pocket of her bag) while shouting out, "Okay, Lady, you need to lower it's Defence! Use Tail Whip! " The teen shouted. Ladyflicker nodded and sat in the same pose her sprite way in, wagging her tail in an endearing fashion, trying to coax Wild Pidgey that she was just a cute lil' Firecub. Ha, yeah right.

The tiny bird Pokemon's small, beady eyes darted back and forth as it followed the tip of the Firecub's flaming tail. It was almost as if the dancing flames were hypnotic, putting the Pidgey into a sort of trance as it continued following... following... following... It seemed to sway slightly as well, its defenses dropping slightly as its muscles relaxed, and then -- it snapped out of it with an angry chirp!
"Pidge pidge! Pidge pidge pidge pidge pidge!" it continued squawking and chirping rather angrily, which seemed to be a bit of an overreaction seeing as all the Firecub had done was a simple Tail Whip. However, if one had been forced into a hundred foot dive and then landed rather hard, they would probably have been rather irritable as well.
Finally, the Pidgey seemed to have decided upon its next move, and spread its wings wide, as if it was going to take off again. However, it merely started beating them rapidly, giving itself an added boost of thrust as it darted forward with it's Tackle attack. Though, one would probably think a Pidgey would use an aerial Tackle rather than a ground one, where they were more clumsy. However, with the Murkrow swarming in the skies, you couldn't exactly blame the small bird for wanting to keep its claws safe on the ground.

Ladyflicker quickly dodged, finding it easy to do so. This Pidgey was slow moving on ground- it couldn't even go that high. Deciding that stat effecting moves weren't going to work too well, Ladyflicker went her own way and ran full speed towards Wild Pidgey. Her trainer thought the same, figuring that if the last Tail Whip had only made Wild Pidgey more annoyed that offencive was the best way to go.
Putting the pokédex bag into her bag, Ex knew that the machine wasn't needed for a pokémon such as Pidgey, which she already knew the moveset of. Watching her Firecub race towards the pigeon-based pokémon, she started to continue her hesistant orders, "Ladyflicker, add a pounce into your Tackle attack! " The plain teenager yelled. Ladyflicker meowed and nodded, continueing her tackle towards Wild Pidgey.

"Pidgey! Pidge!" the Pidgey chirped loudly, trying to scramble out of the way of the Firecub's Tackle, however, being on the ground it was not quick enough to do so. It soon found itself with a Firecub on top of it, with its back against the ground and wings outstretched. Well, it had not been expecting the lion cub to actually pounce on it!
The Pidgey chirped rather indignantly, squirming and showing obvious displeasure in being stuck on its back. Being on your back was no fun, especially for a bird of all creatures! Sure, maybe some Pokemon liked sleeping on their back but the Pidgey didn't, it liked sleeping standing up for crying out loud!
In a rather funny attempt to Tackle the Firecub in the position the bird was currently in, the Pidgey jabbed its beak forward, trying to at least his the lion cub in the chest or maybe even its face, anything to get the cat off of it! It flailed its claws, trying to kick or really do anything just to get the fire type off!

Sadly for Wild Pidgey, Ladyflicker held her head high to dodge the sharp head tackles and swiped at him if he got too close to her chest. It was very rude to hit a girl in her chest. But pokémon aren't like humans last time I checked. Except for a select few which Ex's friends like to laugh at. And Ex likes to laugh at time too... Wait, this isn't the time to recall silly events from Rustboro! Eyeing the pidgey closely, Ex decided that it was best for Ladyflicker to lower it's health a bit more before catching it.
Holding the capsule-style ball tightly in her grip, ML yelled for a Tackle attack. Ladyflicker mreowed back at her trainer before doing something that Ladyflicker learnt by being raised by humans for a short while before getting a permanent trainer (and by being so playful). Kicking her legs up, Ladyflicker seemed to do a handpawstand before letting her left arm of the ground. Gravity caused Ladyflicker to fall onto Wild Pidgey like a sort of odd Tackle attack.
"Okay then..," Ex muttered, blinking as Ladyflicker did a funny Tackle attack. Shrugging it off, Ex squinted to see whatever had happened to the Wild Pidgey or Ladyflicker, hoping that things worked out for the best. Then again, that Wild Pidgey was pretty slow moving on the ground, nevermind having at least one of it's wings pinned by a Firecub. The possibilities really where endless...

The Pidgey screeched loudly, still struggling to get the Firecub off of its wing. It was no fun being pinned to the ground, no fun at all! Especially with the swarming Murkrow. Swarming Murkrow equaled bad news! And no doubt, being pinned to the ground by a feline, or all things, was probably not very good either, after all, the Pidgey was a bird, didn't cats eat birds? Oh, why didn't it think this whole thing over first?
The tiny bird's eyes widened as the Firecub jumped into a handstand. It began flailing its wings, now that one was free, though the other was still pinned quite tightly by the lion cub's large paw. Not good, not good! With a loud screech, the Pidgey continued flailing about. No way to escape, it was trapped! No way to dodge this blow, and man, was that blow going to hurt!
The impact of large paws on its body left the brown bird completely winded, its beak open and panting heavily for breath. However, its head suddenly fell backwards into a dead faint, the full weight of the Firecub crashing downward on it being just to much for its small body to withstand.
Congratulations! Ladyflicka gains two (2) levels for defeating a level five Pidgey! The Pidgey may now be caught if so wished!
OoC: I'm sorry >.< I'm in the process of getting a new mod so that won't happen again ^^;;;

ooc:// I'd help. Sadly, Eight Grade is eating away at me as in a rather annoying depression becauseof the boys in my class who like to make fun of me. And the homework is impossible to understad. How'd you get threw Eight Grade?... you are in highschool, aren't you. o.o;;; *sigh* I go to five, now six, forums. I'm making the boards for WAW II, making the boards for PDMR II, replying to PDMR, replying to WAW, replying to Kanoa, and replying to Lanorae. Big problem? The only one I'm not staff on would be LANORAE...
Did you use MS PAINT to make Shadegra, because if you did, I'm making an award! xD And even then, I'm making an award! You da ma... uhn, WOMAN!
Should Firecub say Mreow or Nyah?
"Woooo, yeah, our first victory! YAY! " Excited much? Ex smiled, tossing the pokéball towards Wild Pidgey, really liking their last evolution. Last time she checked her laptop they had been in a contest on a certain Region (notice the use of Region, not forum) which Ex frequently checked the website of. She thinks it got through the first round of a Favourite Pokémon Contest, but Ex had to check again once (Girafarig FTW was what Ex was frequently posting. Hey, it's part psychic, and psychic is Ex's fave element, second only to Fire). " Mrrrreow/Nyyyyya," Ladyflicker purred, enjoying the strength that rushed through her body. She smirked and did a few backflips making her trainer stare. Had the Firecub known this for a long time or had it just happened upon level increase? Or did Ladyflicker gotten lots of experience from being so... playful? Taking her delicate, orange paws off the ground where the Wild pidgey had been, they both watched in awe as the bright red lights where absorbed inot the round object. " Well, we've done it, Lady! You have a new companion... I hope birds aren't too scared of cats, or this could be dangerous! Think he... or she'll like having been fully healed and be put into action? Maybe not, I don't think I'll like getting into fights right after this one," Ex noted, proving that she indeed understood a pokémon's emotions. However, the many black feathers which rained down from the sky mmade her shiver. Ladyflicker watched the pokéball warily, ready to attack if that Pidgey ended up getting out... someway. Still a midnight morning, Marylouisse recalled.

((I guess either of them could work? o.O))
Really, the poor Pidgey was going nowhere. As the capsule smacked against its chest and the red light absorbed the Pokemon inside (though Alceus knows how the heck that actually was possible) the brown and cream feathered Pokemon disappeared into the orb. The device didn't even shook upon capturing the fainted creature, instantly making a loud Ping! sound before the button settled and stopped glowing red. Well, the bird was caught, no doubt about that. [/sup] Congratulations! You caught the Pidgey!
Name: -- Gender: Male Level: 5 Attacks: Tackle, Sand-Attack Personality: A flier by nature, this Pidgey loves to be in the skies - and gets easily irritated when kept away from this luxury against his own will. Very easily irritated, actually, and rash to act before thinking. No doubt he'll get in a few problems others easily avoid by simply thinking out the situation a bit more. Experience Points: 0 Hold Item: None
Other than the flying Murkrows above, and the occasional black feather that fluttered down to the ground, the rest of the route was now silent once more. Guess most Pokemons had gone into hiding as the skies had gotten progressively darker. And who could blame the poor critters, really? However, one seemed to defy the current circumstances - a flash of purple hair running along the grasses in search of food.

"A hundred PokéYen says it's a Rattata! " Ex yelled suddenly, running after the strange creature. Those things where really cute and Ex decided that she'd rather have one stay as a Rattata. Raticate weren't one of her favourites. Well, anyways, it was the pokémon's choice. Jumping over a fallen tree, Ex followed this strange creature, eyes determined after her first capture and battle. Although, the fact that she forgot the new Pidgey's pokéball made Ladyflicker rather irritated. Sighing, the Firecub picking up said pokéball with her mouth, careful to not push the white button. Picking up her trainer's scent, Ladyflicker quickly followed, jumping around with incredible speed after her trainer. The Firecub had a bad idea about this, following a pokémon when they where so scared. It really was quite dangerous. Rattata, if her trainer was corrent, had pretty sharp teeth. Oh, and Ladyflicker had no PokéYen, so... " Mrrrree," Ladyflicker purred, trying to find what her trainer had become of.

"Ra... Ratta?"
The purple rodent had stopped on its tracks, turning to look around the long grasses and make sure the surroundings were clear. He could have sworn he'd heard a voice just moments ago... Since he had stopped his frolicking or a moment, the rat-like pokemon took into grooming his fur for a moment, cream tipped paws running through his face and ears over and over, then the rest of his furred body, before finally working on the tail.
It was at this moment that something jumped out of the long grasses, squealing away about some pokeyen thing.
The rodent sweat dropped, a shocked look in his face, before hissing loudly as his fur stood on edge in warning. Great, and he had just finished grooming. The rodent was about to throw a Tackle at the female trainer, but stopped in the beginning of his movements as the scent of another creature reached him.
A feline.
As the Firecub finally appered along the grass, a Poke'Ball in its jaws, the purple creature turned towards it instead - hissing loudly. Cat and mouse never got along after all. Red eyes glaring at the fire feline, the rodent then sped quickly in it's direction, leaving a white trail behind himself as the wild Rattata performed a Quick Attack.Event!
Wild Rattata is attacking!

Ladyflicker dropped the pokéball and meowed in an angry, sadistic fashion. This loud yowl easily determined as a, 'Why me? '. At first it had started off with a feather covered pokémon, a bird. Which cats didn't get along well with. The next was a rat with shocking purple fur. Whic cats didn't get well with. It left no time whatsoever for Ladyflicker to play around and generally have some fun! And that irritated Ladyflicker just as much as not being able to be in the sky for Skiever, which Ex had named to newly caught Pidgey whilst running. Speaking of whom... About to faint when the Wild Rattata was about to Tackle her, Ex sat on a stump she happened to be standing beside, eyes wide in horror. Mindlessly picking up the pokéball now holding Skiever, Ex's brain slowly processed what was about to happen. Well, she had jumped through the leaves and branches of low growing trees and then was about to be harshly attacked by a Rattata. Ex once had a pet Rattata before... it bit her often. Then it died because her family was mean and put in out in the balcony. In WINTER. Yes, Ex's family hates pokémon. Sad, huh? Well, after that, Ladyflicker had appeared and caught the Wild Rattata's attention, thus making the pokémon attack her instead. Ex sighed, finally knowing that everything was fine... sort of. Jumping up, Ex yelled the word, ' Dodge!', and watching proudly as Ladyflicker jumped above the Rattata, proceeding to run at the purple mouse with her own Tackle Attack. Ladyflicker needed to learn some more moves. Oh, well... Ex sighed, watching, and placing Skiever's pokéball into her bag... If this Wild Rattata was caught, Ex decided to not evolve it. They where better that way, more fast and harder to locate. And better looking that their evolutions.

"Ra- Ratta?"
As he Firecub suddenly dodged the rodent stopped dead in its tracks, blinking in confusion as red eyes looked for the Firecub. But the foe hit the rodent before it had time to find Ladyflicker again - sending the rodent into a backwards rolling and stumbling motion, and getting the purple fur dirty in the process. And it had just cleaned its fur moments ago! Now the rodent was angered.
"Rattata, rattata!!!"
Hissing and chattering loudly the opponent stayed in the same spot, though a more determined look was on his features as he seemed to be storing energy - or something. In reality, the wild Rattata was using Focus Energy, trying to clear its mind and heighten the chances of landing a critical hit blow on the Firecub.
Oh, he'd teach her for ruining his precious purple fur!

It's using Focus Energy! Quickly remembering that attack stance- she had seen it enough times, known to have a certain liking for torchic. And torchic knew Focus Energy so that was a no brainer. Deciding that this was the perfect time to attack it, Ex called for another Tackle attack which Ladyflicker was quick to do, running at Wild Rattata. Kicking up soil with her strong, large paws, Ladyflicker hissed in a dangerious fashion, eye glaring at the rat. Cat and mouse... " Argh, this midnight morning-" Ex, for some reason, liked this word phrase. " Is really creeping me out. I can't see now! Bad idea to be scared of the dark... sort of. Uhm..."

"Rattata!!"
The Tackle attack hit the rodent right in the middle of his chest, knocking the purple creature backwards and into a spinning motion on the ground. As he came to a stop the rodent got back up, visibly beginning to tire, before hissing loudly at the feline.
"Ratta... Rattata!!!!"
Launching itself at the foe the small Pokemon went at break-neck speed, leaving a white trail behind himself as the Rattata performed a Quick Attack. [/sup]

With a yowl of pain, Ladyflicker was hit harshly, sent flying into a tree. Ex jumped and looked down at the Wild Rattata, wondering what to do. Shaking her head, bringing with it a flurry of black hair, Ex yelled for the next Tackle attack, confidently shaking her fist to nothing of any importance. However, Ladyflicker seemed to have... different plans? Oh, well, the starting trainer disided that instinct overwhelmed just plain, boring knowledge. Like homework. ICK.
"Mreeeeee! " Ladyflicker hissed, glaring at Wild Ratta from her spot in front of a tree. Although, she begged that her plan would work. Eyes hiding a glimmer of fear, the Firecub got ready to jump the moment Wild Ratta could nearly hit her- that tree she was standing in front of had better be strong. Whilst this was happening, Ex grabbed a spare pokéball. Nothing like a ftas, agile chaser in the game of chasing.

Staying on his side the Rattata continued to hiss and spit, glaring at the Firecub. A smirk soon lined his features as he saw the feline hit a tree due to his attack, before the rodent begun wagging his tail back and forth in a Tail Whip. Over-confident, though, the rodent managed to become oblivious to the planning of Ladyflicker.
"Ra... Rattata!!!"
And so the Rattata launched himself again towards the Firecub in another fast Quick Attack. He was going rather fast, so it was most probable unlikely for the Pokemon to be able to dodge anything at the moment. Not like it mattered - for the Rattata was sure he would hit...

"Lady, get away from it! Ladyflicker, are you trying to get yourself killed? C'mon, move it! Uwaaaaah, " As one could see, the trainer really had a distaste from any sort of tense moment. Like this one. Flailing her arms in the air like some sort of enraged Primape, Ex was about to return the Firecub when a loud hiss was sent towards her. Stepping back, and shutting up, Ex mummbled quietly and wondered if this was how her mother felt when she disobeyed or something... Ladyflicker rolled her bright amber eyes towards her trainer, the strong and loud hiss silencing the scared creature. But, the girl was right. Quick Attacks where fast. So fast that... maybe it could be a strong disadvantage. The Tail Whip slightly catching Ladyflicker off guard, she was only able to see a blur of purple when Wild Ratta came running. Then, without warning, the feline let out a small, helpless meow, covering her eyes with the large paws. Well, before you go wondering what had actually happened, Ladyflicker used Growl, hopefully lessening the force of Wild Rattata's Quick Attack. Then she was only able to step to the side, the purple mouse slamming into her left leg. Although, this was a pretty hard slam. With a dark yowl, Ladyflicker rolled over beside a small stone, another idea unfolding. However, the red mark which had now been created on her left leg seemed to be painful. " ... Nani?" Ex asked no one, blinking. Now, what to do after this battle. Well, a Potion for Ladyflicker would be acceptable, her health lowered due to Skiever's Tackle attack and the dual Quick Attack from this Rattata. Ex had to say, it was fast and agile, a good stalker. Just needed to be more... quiet. " Um... great job, Ladyflicker! At lest you didn't have to go through the most of it! Eheh..."
