A tall, slightly overweight girl stumbled onto the fields of Route One, clutching a slippery serpentine Water-type in her arms. Said Water-type - a Seaward - had attempted to walk next to her trainer, but had found it rather hard, and Elissa planned on bonding with her starter as early as possible, so putting her back in her Pokeball was out of the question.
"We're gonna be best friends, Hollie," she murmured, stroking the moist skin of her Pokemon, who hummed happily. "You'll see. We just need to get to where we're going..."

Overhead, the normally crystal blue sky was now a deep onyx colour. Nearly every single section of the sky was blocked out by bird-shaped Pokémon, with an outline of a shape similar to a triangle where their head supposedly was. Every now and then, a flash of yellow was seen, as the Pokémon of darkness flew about. Their exact names? Murkrow.
Again, the normally joyous community of Pokemon in the prairie had left no trace of their existence, and what lied in front for a mile or so was strictly empty darkness. Which is why one of those Murkrow swooped down towards the human and Pokemon it had seen enter the Route.
Event! Elissa spotted a Murkrow!

Elissa squealed and stepped back as the Murkrow swooped, almost dropping Hollie, who hummed nervously as her trainer regained her grip on the slippery creature and steadied herself, drawing away from the misfortune-bringing bird.
"B-back off,"she said, looking fearfully at the Dark-type. "D-don't come any closer..." Knowing that the Murkrow could probably sense her fearing, she put Hollie down at her feet, instructing her to be ready to attack. The Seaward nodded, propping herself up on her front fins.

If the bird could have smirked, it would have. The yellow beak, glistening in sign of sharpness, was slightly opened as a caw-ish laughter escape the Murkrow. So, the trainer was terrify of her, yes? Well, she should be. Glancing at the Seaward the female held - and that had just recently been placed on the ground - the dark and flying Pokemon decided she'd have this battle won in no time - considering the water based pokemon would have more troubles in the ground than she in the air. Plus, it looked young, so the wild bird hoped it didn't knew any water, or ice, based attacks just yet.
'Murkrow!'
Cawing loudly once more she took to the skies once more, before swooping down in Hollie's direction, intent on performing a Peck attack on the Seaward. Event!Wild Murkrow is attacking![/center]

((Very well then. *smiles*))
Elissa nervously fiddled with her loose, white top as the Murkrow soared upwards, towards the steadily darkening sky. Surely her stammered words wouldn't make it fly away...?
No, she decided, as the dark creature seemingly laughed at her from a height at which she could not attack it, it would not - the Murkrow was going to fight her and Hollie, and there was nothing she could do about it, except the unthinkable - fight back.
"Hollie...dodge, then Tail Whip!" she yelled finally, noticing the Murkrow getting ready to dive. As she swooped, the Seaward manouevered herself out of the way of the sharp, menacing, saffron beak, before waving her long, slippery tail at the bird, threatening to hit her over her feathered head.

So the Seaward dodged? The bird would give it some credit, though she clearly knew that the water starter wouldn't continue being that lucky. Not if she had to say anything about it. And that's when the tail came in, and thingy! right on her hat shaped top in her head. The Murkrow stammered a bit, hoping away a few feet as she swayed from side to side - dizzy due to the unexpected attack. It took a few seconds, but soon she was back to her full senses, and glaring at the Seaward.
'Mur... Krow... Mu-Murkrow!'
She would not look like a fool in front of the other swarming birds above. Oh no. No, no, no. And so, with an indignant caw, the bird was back in the battle - and more determined to win than before. She would win this - or let a Poke'Ball then be her faith if she didn't, for the dark and flying type wouldn't be able to return to the rest of the flock. Not with a loss towards a trainer and a Seaward under her hat. Oh no, she was better off being eaten by a Firecub than returning if she lost. And so she dove again, feeling her defenses being slightly lowered by the Tail Whip, though this time the Murkrow was attempting an Astonish attack - in hopes of making her foe flinch, and thus give her an advantage in this battle. Surprised that the Tail Whip had hit, and apparently worked, Elissa took a moment to think about what was happening. If the Murkrow hit with her next attack, Hollie was only a small Pokemon, and was likely to get hurt badly. It was very tempting to scoop up the Water-type and run, but...she couldn't. That wouldn't be fair on Hollie.
So caught up in her thoughts was Elissa that she wasn't watching as the Murkrow dived again towards Hollie. Surprised by the sudden attack, the Seaward winced as the bird hit her; caught off guard, she found herself unable to attack.

Seeing the Seaward be hit an unnable to do anything to retaliate the Murkrow cawed loudly in laughter. "Krow, krow! Murkrow!" She continued her taunted laughter, flying over head and in a circle pattern around the area of her battle. Finally the bird angled downwards once more, aiming for the Seaward once more with her gleaming yellow beak
"Mur... Murkrow!!!"
Here came another Peck attack towards Hollie...

The glinting saffron beak drove into the soft, fragile skin of the Seaward as the Murkrow dived towards her; shrieking in pain, Hollie rolled away from the dark creature, waiting anxiously for a response from her indecisive trainer, who was mumbling something to herself as her Pokemon was attacked. Normally, this would be the mark of an irresponsible and frankly stupid trainer, but in Elissa's case, it was simply because she didn't know what to do.
"Go for a Tackle, Hollie!" she said finally, biting her nails immediately afterwards as she watched the serpentine Pokemon twist herself to face the Murkrow, propelling herself forward with her flipper to ram her full weight against the bird.

Normally, indecisive trainers that didn't knew what to do fell on the stupid, rookie and irresponsible categories - or at least they did for the Murkrow. "Go for a Tackle, Hollie!" So, the trainer had finally uttered a command after all this time? As the Murkrow turned her head back, for she had been flying away and up again to gain speed, the Seaward suddenly collided with her, bringing the bird down and pinning it to the ground. So now it was the Seaward on top, the poor Murkrow in the middle and the dirt and grass on the bottom.
"Murkrow! Murkrow!"
Loud, indignant squawks were given by the feathered creature as she struggled and twisted, trying to jab that yellow beak of hers in any part that was near or accessible at the moment in a Peck attack. How dare this thing touch her?! She would get this Seaward off from her, now, no matter what!!!
"Krow! Murkrow! Krow, krow!!!"
Oh, wait 'til she got out of here and she told the Queen about this!!!

Seeing her precious new Pokemon take the upper hand at last, the shy trainer finally got her act together.
"I know it hurts, Hollie, but try to keep your weight on it! Can you do another Tackle? If not, Tail Whip!"
"Sea~~ward, sea," the serpent hissed, pushing herself down against the struggling bird, wincing as the sharp beak of the Murkrow jabbed into her soft belly. Giving up on a Tackle - it would seize the chance to fly away, she decided - the Seaward raised her tail, waving it in a menacing fashion so as to intimidate the trapped Murkrow into lowering her defences.

The defenses were indeed lowered, yet the Murkrow payed no attention as she proceeded to continue and try to jab her beak into the Seaward in yet more Peck attacks. Struggling and writhing the Murkrow continued to try and get herself lose, cawing loudly all the time.
"Murkrow! Murkrow!! Murkrow!!!"
What a loud bird...

Calling out in pain one last time, the Seaward rolled off the misfortune bringing creature, unable to take to pain. Hearing a fearful, worried command from her trainer, Hollie threw herself towards where she though Murkrow was, too afraid to look and see if she had already flown away. Elissa watched helplessly, seeing the obvious pain her Pokemon was in, noting the cuts on her belly where the Murkrow had Pecked her. Most of the teenager wanted to flee, to get herself and her friend out of danger.
But part of her wanted to see this battle through.

Upon being freed from the extra weight the Murkrow sighed in relief, cawing in laughter as she noted the pain of the Seaward. Hah, that would teach her to mess with her! however, while gloating on her 'victory', the Murkrow had allowed her defenses to drop even more, and suddenly found herself with a Seaward back on her - and a critical hit stealing most of her health away. Startled, confused and tired the Murkrow flapped frantically around, though she forgot to attack this once.
"Murkrow! Mur murkrow!"

"Nnnn...okay, Hollie, tackle one more time, but don't hurt yourself..."
Subconciously biting her already short nails, Elissa watched as the Seaward, growling under her breath at the Murkrow, struggled once more to tackle the dark creature, as the cover of darkness preyed on both their minds. It wasn't safe for either of them to be travelling with all these savage Murkrow flying around - but Hollie wasn't thinking of that, as she tossed herself again at the equally exhausted Murkrow, out of breath. She would be very glad to get to the next town as soon as possible.
"Seeee..."

That last move and the Tail Whips seemed to do the trick, for when Hollie collided with the wild Murkrow the Pokemon fainted. Lying limp on the ground, feathers ruffled this way and that, the dark bird remained there - stationary - and awaiting his fate. Whether it be as the slave of a human, or the meal of a predator, the bird had no ways of changing her future now. It all rested on the trainer's hands, and of those of Fate herself.
"Mur... Krooow..."
Event! Hollie has gained 2levels for defeating a level 05 Murkrow. The wild female Murkrow may now be caught!

((Earlier in the thread, you referred to the Murkrow as female.))
The defeat of the Murkrow took Elissa completely by surprise. A few moments passed before it sank in - she had won her first battle. Congratulating Hollie softly, she reached into her bag, feeling for the empty Pokeballs; finding one, she pulled it out and clumsily threw it at the unconcious bird.
Exhausted by the fight, the Seaward limped slowly over to her trainer, the only thought on her mind being that of getting a Potion sprayed on her body. The cuts where the Murkrow's beak had dug into her skin stung as she slithered back to her trainer's side. Said trainer knelt down to pet her first Pokemon, keeping a keen eye on the Pokeball she had thrown towards the dark creature.
